Stop the Bleed® Course

Stop the Bleed® is a training program that empowers individuals to respond confidently and effectively to life-threatening bleeding emergencies.

EPIC EM is proud to be an authorized provider of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Stop the Bleed® Course, offering a flexible training model that meets official certification requirements.

How It Works at EPIC EM

1. Lecture Component – Two Options Available:

   • Live Virtual Session: Delivered via a secure virtual platform by a qualified instructor. Participants must attend the full session with the instructor present throughout. No recordings or on-demand sessions allowed.

   • ACS Interactive Online Course: Participants complete an interactive self-paced module provided by ACS (animated videos, quizzes, and diagrams). Upon completion, they receive a quiz result document that must be presented during the skills session.

2. Skills-Only Training (Mandatory):

   • All participants must complete an in-person, instructor-led skills session to demonstrate bleeding control techniques.

   • These are scheduled regularly by EPIC EM and follow the 1:10 instructor-to-student ratio, as required by ACS.

   • Skills sessions may be booked publicly or privately for groups, clinics, schools, or organizations.

3. Certification:

   • To be considered fully certified, students must complete both the lecture (live or interactive) AND the skills session.

   • Certificates are issued only once both components are completed and logged correctly in the ACS Instructor Portal.
