The Basic Emergency First Aid- Level 1 course is intended primarily for people wishing to learn the effective skills of providing CPR and First Aid to victims of all ages. This course is for anyone with either no or limited medical training, who needs a Department of Labour First Aid Certificate of Competence to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

On successful completion, a Department of Labour accredited SETA course certificate will be issued.

• Musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, fractures and dislocations)

• Bleeding, wounds and soft tissue injuries
• Respiratory emergencies (asthma)
• Shock
• Choking (adult, child and infant)
• Diabetes
• Epilepsy
• Environmental illness and injury (hypothermia and hyperthermia)
• Poisoning (child and adult), stings (bees and scorpions) and bites (spiders and snakes)
• Burns
• Water accidents (drowning)
• Cardiovascular disorders – heart attacks and strokes
